Choosing Our Thoughts

pumpWe as humans have been given a wonderful gift by our Creator–that being the ability to choose our own thoughts.   By choosing what to think about, or to focus on,  we can shape our future events.   Sounds illogical?  Well think about it,  when you are “down” and mull this line of thinking for an extended period, what happens?  That depression seems to go on and on.  But if an external event comes along that forces you to get out of your funk, and you therefore are focusing in a new direction,  this causes you to have a different  type of experience.   To the extent that you focus on the new possibility, you cannot maintain two opposing thoughts at once.  This for the period of your new focused thought, will cancel out your previous “depression.”

By choosing what to focus on–pleasurable thoughts;  this will color your future experiences.  By choosing our thoughts correctly, it makes for more happiness and keeps us young.

Life coming at you fast

pumpI suppose we all experience crazy hectic moments in our lives where things get ahead of us.   The harder we “try,” the be-hinder we get–which makes the going that much more difficult.   Sometimes just “thinking about the doing” even gives us short term comfort.   A sort of “gathering of the forces” rationale.   But as with all practiced activities, and this includes thinking; a sort of momentum builds up.  At this point  the real “Work” never gets  started because the doorway to inertia just got a little bit wider.

So then what is the solution when so much is thrown at us?   How do we approach it all?  The answer:  Systematically.  Everything is a system Universally speaking.  From the simplest activities to the most complex.   As with the systematic activity in the spinning of a spider’s web, to the pin wheeling  marvel of our own solar system– there is a natural progressing–a system.

So systematically tackle like activities in a progressive manner til their completion before beginning an unrelated topic.  This keeps you focused and helps with the all important issue of momentum.   As “practice” or repetition is the physical force we consciously do; momentum  is that non physical force that joins us and enhances our efforts.  Then the going gets a lot easier.

Easy Weight-loss

Issues of weight have been a concern for many–and for a variety of reasons.  Vanity, health and general well being are the chief reasons given for wishing to lose a few pounds.  These are all great motivators for getting started;  the problem comes with the “long slog.”  By that I mean just plain old sticking to the plan.  It was therefore my delight to find a gem of a video that has some powerful tools that DO help you lose those few extra pounds.  This video is by noted hypnotist Paul McKenna.  He has recently been featured on TLC in a series on weight loss.  This video is his UK show called “Paul McKenna Will Make You Thin.”  Tall order, but the techniques that he uses are indeed very effective.  Have a look and good luck!Easy Weight-loss Video

Before you can do something, you must first become something.”
